Welcome and thank you for visiting my site.  My name is Jeremy Capello and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist.  I received my PhD. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008.  I received my predoctoral internship training in Clinical Psychology and my postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology with emphasis in Primary Care Behavioral Health from the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System.

I enjoy providing adults across the lifespan with short and long-term, individual psychotherapy from a Cognitive Behavioral approach and a Mind/Body perspective.  I also value working with couples who are encountering difficulties with communication.  I provide a safe and accepting environment for individuals who fear being judged or discounted due to their sexual orientation/identity, culture, ethnicity, relationship patterns or practices.

I help people find ways to successfully manage life's obstacles. These may include dealing with medical/health concerns, daily stressors, life transitions, grief and loss and exposure to traumatic life experiences. Often exposure to life's difficulties may cause us to feel disengaged, disempowered and out of control.  These events may often cause depression, anxiety, or other symptoms such as substance abuse, intimacy issues, poor self esteem and negative health behaviors.   These symptoms may keep us from developing more loving and compassionate relationship with ourselves and others.  By acknowledging and examining the impact of your life events we can work together to re-frame  perspective, honor experiences and find a voice that will give you the courage to build strength and resilience in the midst of change.
